44 Wines & Spirits announces major retail
expansion; closure of restaurant and gourmet shop.
France 44 Wines & Spirits
will expand its core retail business in 2008 by annexing the
space currently housing Café 44. This expansion will
increase the Wines & Spirits retail space by approximately
20%, allowing for a significant expansion of its growing
lines of business. Key enhancements will include:
Expansion
of wine selection across nearly all categories
Approximately
double the number of beers offered,
especially in the artisanal American and European categories
Dedicated
section for organic and biodynamic wine
Upgraded glassware and accessories assortment
Larger spaces for the wine and beer sampling bars, offering
free samples to the public on Fridays, Saturdays, and key holidays
This expansion will necessitate the closure
of Café 44.
All dining operations will cease effective Monday, December 10,
2007.
Catering and gift basket sales will continue
as normal and will not be affected by the closure of Café 44.
France 44 Wines & Spirits will honor all gift cards and gift
certificates sold through Café 44 at par value.
